Blueberry Hibiscus Lemonade
Blueberry Hibiscus Lemonade with natural flower and fresh fruit is perfect for summertime! Enjoy this drink on its own, or spritz it up with a little natural seltzer water.
Ingredients
Serves: 4-6
Blueberry Hibiscus Lemonade
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 3/4 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
Directions
- Mix the sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Then, add the hibiscus and blueberries to the pan, and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Gently mash the blueberries with a wooden spoon.
- After the mixture is fully dissolved, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
- Then, strain the liquid through a fine mesh into a measuring cup or pitcher and cool for another 10 minutes.
- Once fully cool, combine the blueberry-hibiscus syrup with the remaining water and lemon juice and stir well.
- Refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice.
